Rock Ness Mess part 10
Ever watch those action movies, especially kung fu ones where this happens? Now you have a weapon in the war of the willing suspension of disbelief. Feel free to forward it to all your friends who watch action movies with you so you can all benefit from the knowledge goons in a group are intentionally bad fighters!

Roger is good at reading the atmosphere. It’s one of his most powerful traits. That time he helped out Christi? wait, was that on accident? (argh the archive isn’t searchable)

Oh, the archive IS searchable! I just noticed that box on the right.
So, in Shadows of Doom part 31, where Roger saves Christi from the Hoodlum? That’s the sort of thing that reading the atmosphere tells you is a good idea, which is what makes it powerful.

Ribuprissin – You’re right. Roger definitely is street savvy. He’s a proper rogue!

I’m told the big comicbook soundeffect balloons on the 60s Batman series were to hide this..
and I always liked in Mortal Kombat when the stuntman Johnny Cage was working with couldn’t figure out when to fall down.. which doubles as a joke to how fighting game characters stay standing til the second they’re done

In one of the Zatoichi movies, Ichi is attacked by three goons and quickly kills two; the third, after a beat, drops to play possum. Ichi stands puzzled for a moment, then gestures for the surviving goon to get up and scoot.

One of the few funny bits in the Get Smart movie, his friends have to make a show of trying to stop him from escaping because they are the only ones who know he isn’t a turncoat, and they rather badly fake getting beat up.
