Epic Sail – part 46
My apologies to any Douglases out there. There are plenty of great Dougs out there, like Doug Gilmour, Douglas Fairbanks, Dig Dug, and dug outs.
I originally wanted to make a boat called the Argonautilus, based on the Argo and the Nautilus, two great fictional boats. But I didn’t find room for it in the story. So I went for a nautilus who’s shell resembles a Greek helmet.
So what do you automatically want to do with cool sounding word combinations? That’s totally going to be my new band name! Or screen name. Or next tattoo. Or what…?

I full on laughed out loud when your list of “Dougs” included one of my favorite games: Dig Dug. What a great game that taught me to pump my enemies full of air in order to get my prizes.

Don’t forget Douglas Aircraft, which made the near-immortal DC-3/C-47 series airliners/cargo aircraft.

And of course Douglas Adams! How’d I forget him?

Been trying to think of any good funny ‘Dougs’, but all I can come up with are Douglas MacArthur and Douglas “Doogy” Howser from that TV show…

Don’t forget dugongs! (Dugong dugon of the family Dugongidae)

I usually just try to find a way to shoehorn ’em into my comic, but it’s never quite as naturalistic as when you do it.. Sometimes I get close though. A few Novembers ago, the arrival of a helpful pack of Thanksgibbons.

When I saw the name, I though it was a nautilus made out of noble gas, since it wouldn’t be affected much by extreme temperature.
